Weekly Jr. Oiler

9/18/26

Good afternoon Dwyer Community! Here is this week's newsletter for your review. Have a great weekend and Go Jr. Oilers!

Principal Update:

Dear Dwyer Families,

Yesterday, during our Advisory period our school participated in a school wide evacuation drill for the first time this school year.  The reason why I share this information with you is that I want you to know that school safety for EACH AND EVERY one of our students and staff here at Dwyer is our top priority.  While an evacuation drill may seem compulsory, this is not how I see it at all!  As the principal at Dwyer, I see it as a system that shows me where we are strong and where we can get better.  I am proud to say that for our first drill (yes, we will have others) our students and staff did very well!

Going back to the topic of safety, other systems we have in place work best when we work together for your students' success and safety.  As I sit in front of my screen on how to best sum up what is needed with these systems to work, the word ‘communication’ comes to mind.  While in person communication is what I ALWAYS will recommend,  two tools we have to report issues of student safety are our We-Tip Line: 844-714-1387 and our online version of this linked here

Now…shifting gears and looking ahead to next week, remember that Back to School Night will take place next Thursday, 9/25, with Zero Period starting at 5:44pm. I’ve included the flyer here. Please work with your student to get their schedule to use for Thursday evening.

Respectfully,
Mr. Okamoto
