Boys Volleyball Tryouts
Starting next week, practices will be at 6:50am every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings except for holidays.

Girls Basketball Tryouts
Starting next week, practices will be after school until 4:15 every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays, except for holidays.

After-school Sports At Dwyer

Most Dwyer sports teams play in the Coastal Athletic League. Dwyer sponsors 4 team sports each for boys and girls. 6th and 7th graders play on the SAME team. 8th graders have their own teams. The Coastal League sports include basketball, volleyball, soccer, and track and field. See the posted schedules on this page for details for tryouts and schedules. Basketball, volleyball, and soccer conduct tryouts to make the team, and they are highly competitive. ALL students make the Dwyer track and field team, and students must earn specific times, heights, and distances to compete at the league track meet.

In 2009 Dywer added a cross country team/club that competes in the Winter, and is looking to add other schools to compete against. The club meets throughout the year to maintain conditioning.

In addition, Dwyer sponsors the Surf Club/Team. All students are eligible to make this team. The surf team competes in the National Scholastic Surfing Association. For further information contact Stacy Wood at swood@hbcsd.us.

• Maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average on their quarterly report cards. No Exceptions! 
• As a condition for eligibility, students must maintain an acceptable record of citizenship.  Students will be considered ineligible for participation if they receive two N’s or one U in Citizenship during the prior grade reporting period (either progress report or report card).  These marks cannot be given by the same teacher. 
• A student who has lost their right to participate in after school sports during the sport itself will not be allowed a refund of participation fees once the student looses their participation privilege.
• Severe disciplinary problems at events or at school, on campus or while visiting another schools campus may result in the loss of participation in any after school athletic event and may lead to disqualification.
• Students must be in full-time attendance in order to participate in after school sports and have no unexcused tardies or be involved in the School Attendance Review Board process.

Donations For After School Sports Teams

Dwyer's athletic program is predominantly run from donations. Without a sufficient amount of donations collected the athletic program will have to fold. Your donations will go toward things like: transportation, coach's stipend, referee fees, tournament and league fees, as well as miscellaneous costs such as upkeep of equipment and uniforms. With that said, to keep the athletic program functioning we ask that each athlete contribute $100 for the above costs. If $100 is just too much then any donation amount will help. If any of you would like to help support a less fortunate athlete by donating any additional monies, that too would be greatly appreciated.

Please give your check (made out to HBCSD) or cash in an enevelope with your student's name clearly written on outside to Mr. Gray. We appreciate your support!
