His experience spans strategic planning, instructional leadership, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and equity-focused practices that prioritize success for all learners.
“It is a tremendous honor to join HBCSD as the new principal of Dwyer Middle School,” said Dwyer Principal Mr. Okamoto. “I believe a school runs best when relationships and communication are strong. I look forward to developing both with our students, teachers, staff, and parents to support the great work that is already being done at Dwyer for our students!”
Mr. Okamoto holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration from California State University, Fullerton, a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University.
“David’s depth of secondary leadership, his student-first mindset, and his track record of strengthening school climate and learning make him an exceptional fit for Dwyer Middle School,” said HBCSD Superintendent Dr. Leisa Winston. “We are thrilled to welcome him to the District and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our students and staff.”
